The main security lock, a frame lock, a padlock and even a battery lock for e-bikes - if you want to secure your bike properly, you need a lot of locks. That is why at ABUS, with the ONE KEY system, we offer to build customised locks for you in such a way that you can operate all of them with one key.

You already have an e-bike and want to buy an additional bike lock? Thanks to One Key Option, you can order the extra bike lock before buying keyed alike from your dealer.

You can combine any number of bicycle locks keyed alike. So you only need one key for all your locks. So before buying your next lock, ask your dealer about One Key Option.

Maybe you already have an ABUS bike lock and would like to have your new e-bike lock keyed alike. Then the dealers can order you a new battery compartment lock and install it.

How does One Key work?

It’s quite simple. Each ABUS lock has an individual key code with which spare keys or matching “keyed alike” locks can be made - even years after purchase. All that matters is that the locks from ABUS have the same type of cylinder installed.

Each key and thus key code fits an ABUS cylinder type. If the cylinder types are identical, a matching bicycle lock can be manufactured.

Keyed alike locks can be purchased through an ABUS bicycle dealer. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with information on whether our partners also offer this service online.

The correct code is essential for reordering keyed alike locks. If you have lost the corresponding CodeCard and the key number is not shown on your purchase documents, the key can be read by sending it to an ABUS bicycle dealer.

Then it is possible to remanufacture keys, create a new CodeCard and subsequently order keyed alike locks. 

(hint: some XPlus locks models cannot be keyed alike to bicycle locks i.e. motorcylce locks 58, 59 etc.)

Custom locks are usually produced at our factory within one week* before the lock is shipped to the dealer where the order was placed.
