360° finger detection A capacitive sensor reliably recognizes the fingerprint - regardless of the direction from which the finger is placed. Placing the finger flat on the touch field ensures that the fingerprint is fully identified. The advantage over keys and numeric codes is obvious: you always have your finger with you.

The YARDO 7807F chain lock is the first ABUS bike lock to use a biometric fingerprint method.

Teaser in Rich Text

Your security is your fingerprint. Because authentication for unlocking is done via touch - as you know it from smartphones.

With a capacitive fingerprint sensor on the YARDO 7807F chain lock, ABUS relies on a particularly secure and convenient operating method. No more fumbling for the key or remembering a code, because all you need to open it is your finger.

Your advantages

  • SECURE AND SIMPLE AUTHENTICATION
The YARDO 7807F chain lock is extremely easy to open, without the need for a key or numeric code. Your finger becomes the key, as a 360-degree sensor reliably recognizes the registered fingerprint and unlocks the lock. It doesn't matter from which direction or position the finger is placed. This is because a digital image of the fingerprint is created by briefly scanning the finger, grooves, etc. several times during the enrollment process, which ultimately serves as unique identification and thus enables the lock to be unlocked and opened.
  • SHARE SECURITY
Up to 20 fingerprints can be enrolled and saved. This is practical if you want to share your bike lock with others and use it together with friends, relatives or neighbors. We recommend storing at least two fingerprints of your own hand in the system.
  • SECURE PROGRAMMING
The first two registered fingerprints are defined as the “master fingerprint” and are associated with an administrator function, i.e. they authorize you to program additional fingerprints. Caution! The two admin fingerprints must be different. A fingerprint may not be saved more than once. The registration process has been designed to be quick and easy using acoustic and visual signals. Security can be so convenient.
  • SAFE FROM DUST AND WATER
No ingress of dirt and water: The IP 66 and IP 68 certifications mean that the YARDO 7807F chain lock works perfectly, even when exposed to rain, wind and dust. In everyday life, on the way to work or on excursions by bike, the chain lock may be exposed to many stresses and strains - thanks to the two certifications, it can easily withstand these external influences.
  • SECURE BATTERY OPERATION
The lock is powered by a standard CR2 battery. Thanks to an efficient energy concept, up to 10,000 unlocking operations are possible with one battery. Massive external influences, such as heavy rain or extreme cold, can affect the battery life. If the voltage is low, the lock issues an SOS warning. This does not affect security. Changing the battery is child's play and is done using a screw. Simply remove the protective cover from the lock housing and unscrew the cover.

FAQ

The first two fingerprints that are taught into the ABUS YARDO 7807F are those of the administrator or one fingerprint each of the first and second administrator.

Registering the first administrator

  1. For the first fingerprint of the first admin, press and hold the sensor for three seconds until a beep sounds. The LEDs will light up blue.
  2. Then place your finger in different flat positions and hold it in place until a long signal tone sounds. The LEDs will flash green.

REGISTERING THE SECOND ADMINISTRATOR

  1. To register the second administrator's finger, the first admin presses and holds the sensor for three seconds. If their finger is successfully recognized, a signal tone will sound. The lock will open.
  2. Press and hold the sensor again until you hear a beep. The LEDs will light up blue. The first admin touches the lock with their finger to confirm.
  3. Now the second admin should place their finger in different, flat positions and hold until a long signal tone sounds. The LEDs will flash green.

REGISTERING MORE FINGERPRINTS

  1. An admin holds the sensor down for three seconds. Their finger must first be successfully recognized again: This is indicated by a signal tone. The lock will open.
  2. Press and hold the sensor again until the beep sounds. The LEDs will light up blue. The admin touches the lock with their finger to confirm.
  3. Now place the new finger to be registered in different, flat positions and hold it in place until a long signal tone sounds. The LEDs will flash green.

Important: Individual fingerprints cannot be deleted. During a deletion process, all stored fingerprints will be removed. The padlock is then reset to the factory setting.

DELETE ALL FINGERPRINTS - FACTORY SETTING

  1. To enter delete mode, an admin presses and holds the sensor for ten seconds. If their finger is recognized, the lock acknowledges this with a signal tone.
  2. Press and hold the sensor until you hear a beep again. The LEDs will light up red. To confirm the deletion, the admin touches the lock with a registered finger.
  3. A long beep and a green LED light signal that all fingerprints have been deleted. The padlock is reset to the factory setting.

Note: all types of fingerprints can be registered - from any finger, young or old. For very large fingers, the print should be scanned over as large an area as possible in order to save all areas.

Important:
When registering, both the finger and the sensor must be clean, because only an accurately registered finger is like a good key.

Tip:
It makes sense to save two different people as administrators and to register several fingers per person. This means that the lock can still be opened safely even if one finger is injured.

  1. Place the finger loosely on the sensor again and change its position if necessary.
  2. Check that both the sensor and the finger are clean and dry.
  3. Is it the right finger? It is possible that the wrong finger was applied.
  4. If fingers are frequently not recognised because the prints have changed (e.g., due to disinfectants, burns or something similar), the YARDO 7807F can be reset to the factory setting. Re-register the fingers to do this.

The YARDO 7807F emits an SOS signal to signify when the battery is low. A beep sounds and the LEDs flash red. After about ten SOS warnings, the lock can no longer be locked after the last opening. This prevents the user from locking themselves out.

REPLACE BATTERY

  1. Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the padlock and remove the standard CR2 battery. Fingerprints will remain stored during this process.
  2. Insert a new CR2 battery and close the battery compartment. The lock will work perfectly again for up to 10,000 more openings.

The YARDO 7807F chain lock is certified to protection classes IP 66 and IP 68 and is therefore reliably protected against dust and water. It is therefore also suitable for use in the rain or wind. The YARDO 7807F can also withstand being sprayed with a water hose.
