A good overview is essential, especially in the hustle and bustle of the big city. ABUS video surveillance provides pin-sharp images at any time of day or night.
Safeguarding headquarters and 17 branches
Whether the 200-metre-high Main Tower, the office building of the European Central Bank (Eurotower) or the Japan Center: Neue Mainzer Straße in Frankfurt am Main is not only the city's central traffic artery, but also the centre of Frankfurt's banking district. The Frankfurter Sparkasse has its headquarters in this street. In order to ensure the safety of employees and customers, the Savings Banks head office, together with 17 other branches (as of: September 2009) in the Rhine-Main area was equipped with security technology from ABUS. Video cameras monitor the foyer here and check transactions at the ATMs.
The challenge and the solution
Remote access from one location to all other systems
Integration of the cameras via hardware-compressed PCI cards into the network of the Sparkasse branches
Subdivision of the recording systems into a security control centre (Neue Mainzer Straße branch) and a counter station for evaluating the image data (bank security in Offenbach)
Regulation of access rights by defining different authorisation and access levels via video management software
Smooth recording and playback of the approx. 200 cameras
Ensure smooth images of excellent quality through H.264 compression of the image data
Transmission of data at nine times lower data rate (MBit/s) than with MJPEG compression relieves network traffic
Precise and discreet control of the money transfer
Use of the euro coin "small" mini camera directly in the cash dispenser
