The triathlon power from Siegerland
The year 2001 began with a bang in the tranquil Siegerland region: The EJOT Team TV Buschhütten advanced to the 1. Bundesliga and made his way to the German triathlon top. And failed ... relegation followed the next year. But the team around sports director Rainer Jung did not give up and seven years later the triathletes achieved their greatest success so far: All four teams (1. League, 2. Bundesliga Nord, Landesliga Süd and Damen Regionalliga) were each champions or runners-up. Since then, there is no way around the Westphalians in national races.
The list of former and current team members reads like an international who's who of the triathlon scene: Young athletes from all over the world compete for the Ejot Team. Many former team members, such as Ironman runner-up Andreas Raelert or Briton David McNamee, have gone on to achieve great success in the longer distances.
